Spring is in the air and so are plenty of birds as they migrate back to their summer locations. Join us on World Migratory Bird Day for for our story hike as we read Noisy Bird Sing-a-long by John Himmelman. Learn what sounds common birds make and take a hike to see which ones can be heard right outside the Frick Environmental Center.    This hike is suggested for ages 3-8.

Rainbow Kitchen Walk & Ride Against Hunger

On Saturday June 1, 2019 Rainbow Kitchen & UPMC Health Plan will be holding our 15th Annual Walk and Ride Against Hunger. To fulfill our mission and continue our success in the WAR against Hunger. UPMC Kids Free Sundays

Every Sunday in June, the Senator John Heinz History Center will offer free admission to all kids age 17 and under, thanks to UPMC! Visitors can peer into the cockpit of a 48-foot Huey helicopter at the museum’s newest exhibition, The Vietnam War: 1945-1975. Enjoy the History Center’s six floors of award-winning exhibitions and interactive learning spaces, including Kidsburgh play zone, the UPMC SmartSteps, the western Pennsylvania Sports Museum, Discovery Place, the original Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood set and puppets, and more! This offer is open to the general public and UPMC Health Plan member ID card is not required.

First Friday Nature Walk: Summer Begins

Join a naturalist at the Frick Environmental Center for a relaxed hike through the woods. Take an hour out of your Friday to visit your park!  This hike is designed for park pals ages 50+. It's not designed to be strenuous, but Pittsburgh is a hilly place so there will be some ups and downs. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.
